Shamima is Chair of the Disabled Women in Politics Network - a partnership between the Disability Policy Centre, Elect Her and Centenary Action Group.

As a policy specialist, she has supported the work of All Party Parliamentary Groups and Commissions and has experience in assistive technology, housing, employment and education.
