Accessibility Statement for The Disability Policy Centre Website

This accessibility statement applies to www.disabilitypolicycentre.org. This website is run by The Disability Policy Centre.

The Disability Policy continues to work hard on ensuring that our website is as accessible as possible, and welcomes feedback from all users on how we can improve our services. 

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website and we have the current measures in place to ensure this:

  • Installation of UserWay Accessibility Widget (located at the top right hand side of your screen)

  • Alt-Text on all images

  • Closed captions on all videos

  • Documents/PDF’s and downloadable items available in various processors such as Word/Pages on request

  • Ability to zoom in

  • The use of block colouring

  • Sufficient contrast ratios

  • Website text as simple as possible to understand

  • The use of clear, wide spaced text/fonts

  • Discernibility of text

  • Website is compatible with VoiceOver software

  • Website is compatible with screen readers

All new content published will be inline with the mentioned above. 

We know that some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • Text may disappear off the screen when using zoom

  • You cannot modify the line height or spacing of text

  • Some of our website is difficult to navigate using just a keyboard

  • Our interactive contact form is difficult to navigate using speech recognition software and using only a keyboard and do not have associated labels, the provision of our email address has therefore been made available

  • Form fields have multiple labels

However we are working hard to improve these inaccessibilities as soon as possible.
