‘Power of Sport’ report launched at Parliament

The Disability Policy Centre launched our ‘Power of Sport’ report at the House of Lords on Tuesday 23 July alongside our research partner Soda and the social enterprise Nimbus Disability.

The report highlights the barriers that disabled people still face in sport, both as fans and as participants, as well as the possibilities of a truly accessible world in sports.

The event was hosted by Lord Bird MBE, founder of the Big Issue and featured guest speakers including the Minister for Social Security and Disability, Sir Stephen Timms MP, and the Rt Hon Robert Halfon, Paralympic champion Ellie Robinson, Mary FitzMeilton founder of Access to Climb, disability rights campaigner Dr Kush Kanodia, Disability Policy Centre researcher Matt Lloyd PLY and Daniel Cook from the Welsh Rugby Union.
