New senior hires at The Disability Policy Centre
Over the past year, the Disability Policy Centre has recruited two Non-Executive Directors, to help bolster the organisation’s capacity for devising innovative UK policy solutions on disability.
The two new recruits include Danny Newton, who has a background and expertise in the fundraising sector, working on operations and fundraising strategies and applications.
Arun Veerappan has also joined as Non-Executive Director to scale up the organisation's research capabilities with a focus on disabled living standards and employment.
Danny said: “As a person with lived experience of hearing impairment, I am proud to contribute to the disability rights movement and firmly believe in the potential for better disability policy to lead to better outcomes for disabled people. That’s why I’m proud to be part of the Disability Policy Centre and can’t wait to help further our agenda for the rights of disabled people in the coming months and years.”
Arun said: “The Disability Policy Centre looks to deliver impactful research aimed at real policy change. I'm therefore incredibly proud to be part of this organisation as it builds out its research infrastructure and expertise, placing researchers with lived experience at the heart of its process".
The UK’s only disability think tank, which will next year celebrate its third birthday, has grown in size a team of twelve today from only two at its creation.
