This time last year, for the International Day of Disabled People 2023, we held a celebration event at the London Assembly, launching our report ‘Making London an Accessible City for All’.

This report had followed on from a roundtable that we held earlier in 2023, and had recommendations ranging from proposing a Disability Commissioner for London, which had been suggested by Kush Kanodia, to halting and reviewing the progress of floating bus stops.

We are pleased that these proposals were mentioned in a recent debate, put forward by Assembly Member Hina Bokhari, supported by one of the Assembly Members that we worked with on our London roundtables.

As a result of the debate, the London Assembly also passed a motion, unanimously calling for a Disability Commissioner for London. This motion was supported by Inclusion London.
