The Disability Policy Centre is proud to be partnering with WelcoMe on a new research project on Accessible Voting

3rd May 2023

As voters head to the polls this Thursday in many parts of the country, for many disabled people and people with long-term health conditions, there are often a mountain of barriers in place that prevent many of us from fulfilling our basic civic duty.

Our ambition is to work over the coming months and years to truly remove those barriers - firstly through collecting new data and research, and then through working with Local and National Governments to out tangible solutions into place.

On the ‘Eve of Poll’ today, we have launched our Accessible Voting survey with WelcoMe. Our ambition is that that together we can break down barriers and make participating in our democracy truly accessible for all.

Our survey has now closed. Thank you to all of those who took part. We will be keeping you updated about its progress and launch.

Thank you to the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust for kindly supporting this work.
